CONTRAINDICATIONS

Microneedling is contraindicated for patients with:

Accutane (must be off for 1 year)

Active bacterial or Fungal infection

Acne Vulgaris stage III-IV

Bleeding disorder

Collagen vascular diseases

Cardiac abnormalities

Herpes Simplex or if prone to cold sores- may have to take medication

Keloid scars,

Scleroderma

Skin cancer

Solar Keratosis

Duration

The procedure is normally completed within 40– 60 minutes, depending on the required procedure and anatomical site.

Number of Treatments

Depending on area being treated, a series of 3-6 treatments spread 4-6 weeks apart is recommended to have full benefits of microneedling.

Post Treatment

After your treatment you may experience, burning, itchy dry skin. You will have a sunburn look to your skin for approximately 24 hours or more depending on your sensitivity. 48-72 hours you may experience some peeling to your skin. After your SkinPen treatment you will have a take home kit that contains product to be used for the next 48 hours.

1. Lift HG – can be applied as often as needed the first 24 hours following your treatment.

2. Rescue – a hydrating cream to be applied 24 hrs post treatment as often as needed.

3. On day three, you may start your regular skincare program unless otherwise instructed by your practitioner. You may start using exfoliating products one week post treatment.

We recommend changing your pillowcase on the day of treatment so that there are no contaminants that will come in contact with your newly treated skin.

MICRONEEDLING FAQ'S

WHAT TO AVOID Before your SkinPen Treatment:

• Stop using Retinol/Retin A, Glycolic acids/AHA’s, Hydraquinone products at least one week prior your appointment.
• If you've had a Facial/chemical peel, you need to Wait at least one month Before your SkinPen Treatment.
• Avoid sun exposure at least 48 hours before your appointment. If a sunburn is visible your appointment will be Cancelled at a charged fee and rescheduled for a later date.
• Botox and Fillers need to be done at least 2 weeks before and wait 2 weeks afte rthe SkinPen treatment.
• If you are prone to cold sores, consult your doctor about preventative medication.

We use the SkinPen device that creates micro-injuries in the skin with tiny sterilized needles to stimulate the skin's natural wound healing response. This activates collagen and elastin production and regenerates the skin. Before the treatment a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area to minimize discomfort.

Microneedling procedures allow for controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro-“injuries” in the skin, which triggers new collagen synthesis. The result is smoother, younger-looking skin.

Microneedling procedures are performed in a safe and precise manner with the use of the sterile needle head.
